Euro Disco is a term that was used during the 1980s to describe a variety of European pop music. Euro disco songs are usually catchy songs with bouncy dance beats, English-language vocals and synthesizer-based accompaniment.

In 1984/85, the German Disco artists Modern Talking and Sandra became popular in Central, southern and eastern Europe and established the Euro disco sound across Europe that remained popular until the early 1990s.

Britain's best-known contributors to the euro disco music were during the mid and late 1980s. The Pet Shop Boys are a notable example and of course the Stock/Aitken/Waterman production team. This team produced music by singers such as Rick Astley and Kylie Minogue and conquered the airwaves.
